# Quickstart

> From install to a priced report in a few minutes.

## 1. Install the app

Sign in with GitHub and install opsen on the organisation:

```text
https://opsen.dev/install
```

You need to be an **owner** of the organisation. Members can install apps only with an owner's approval. A personal account works too; opsen reads its own billing with your sign-in.

GitHub asks which repositories opsen may read. Choose **All repositories**. With a selection, opsen cannot tell an inactive member from one who works in a repository it was not shown, so dormant-seat findings are [withheld](/docs/how-it-works#what-is-withheld).

The permissions requested, and why each is needed, are listed in [Permissions](/docs/permissions).

## Without GitHub

On GitLab, Azure DevOps or Atlassian instead? On the Organisations page, choose **Add a workspace without GitHub**, name it, and connect your platforms. The first audit runs as soon as one is connected. You can add the GitHub App to the same company later.

## 2. Connect your other platforms

**Settings → Connections** lists every platform opsen reads. Each takes a read-only key and is priced into the same report:

| Platform | Guide |
| --- | --- |
| GitLab, gitlab.com or self-managed | [GitLab](/docs/gitlab) |
| Azure DevOps and Visual Studio subscriptions | [Azure DevOps](/docs/azure-devops) |
| Jira, Confluence, Service Management, Bitbucket | [Atlassian](/docs/atlassian) |
| JetBrains IDEs | [JetBrains](/docs/jetbrains) |
| CircleCI | [CircleCI](/docs/circleci) |
| Claude Code, Cursor, OpenAI | [Claude Code](/docs/claude-code), [Cursor](/docs/cursor), [OpenAI](/docs/openai) |

## 3. Wait for the first audit

The audit starts the moment the installation lands or a platform connects. The report page refreshes itself while it runs. Most organisations finish in a few minutes; the [limits](/docs/how-it-works#limits) say what large ones are capped at.

When it is done, every owner who has signed in gets one email with the yearly figure.

## 4. Read the report

```text
https://opsen.dev/o/<your-org>
```

Start with the largest finding. Each one says how it was measured, so you can check the figure against your own invoice before acting on it.

:::note
On a negotiated contract? Enter your prices under **Settings → Your prices** (GitHub and Copilot) or in each platform's connection (GitLab, CircleCI). Every figure is recomputed from them at the next audit.
:::

## 5. Act, or send it to someone who will

- Tick the seats to reclaim or remove and press the button on the finding.
- Press **Open fix PR** next to a workflow, or **Fix in your IDE** to hand the fix to Claude Code, Cursor, Codex or Devin.
- Press **Settings → Create a link** to send a read-only copy to finance.
- Set up [single sign-on](/docs/sso) so the rest of the team can sign in as viewers or admins.

## Run it again

Reports refresh weekly on their own. **Run audit now** on any page starts one immediately. Only one audit per organisation runs at a time.
